I call this stuff spam although others would describe spam differently. In fact Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia describes spam as ” the abuse of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately. While the most widely recognized form of spam is e-mail spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media: instant messaging spam, Usenet newsgroup spam, Web search engine spam, spam in blogs, wiki spam, online classified ads spam, mobile phone messaging spam, Internet forum spam, junk fax transmissions, social networking spam, and file sharing network spam.” My definition is much simpler and it is unwanted emails or comments the common thread being UNWANTED. That is why when I advertise on this site I only advertise with things that I have used or think that the readers would be interested in. Is there a way to prevent automated spam submssions or ways to stop spam or at least get rid of spam email or correspondence from reaching you accounts?

 One of the best ways to prevent spam include free wordpress plugins if you have a wordpress site. I personally use the Akismet Plugin which is free for personal use. It does the job and is the best anti spam program I have used. It is certainly better than some anti-spam email software I have used. Some of the software I have tried to prevent spam emails, including the email spam feautres included in major email providers, have not done a very good of job of either filtering unwanted emails or letting me look at wanted emails. I can’t afford to lose an email with an earnings report or such. I’m still looking for that type of email program so suggestions are welcome at this time. Just don’t spam me!
